How the club works

  1. 1What you can swap: perfumes in clear bottles with at least 70% left, cleaned brushes and tools, and accessories. No opened makeup, skincare or haircare.
  2. 2Honest listing: you declare how much is left and when you opened it; our AI checks the photos.
  3. 3Only the 50 swap them: Tried Once listings are visible to all members with a TRIED ONCE badge, but only club members can like and swap them.
  4. 4Safe shipping: perfumes travel by ground, sealed in a bag with padding. Labels are released when both members say yes.

Questions

What is the Second Love Club?

A free pilot for 50 founding members in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Club members can swap opened perfume (clear bottle, at least 70% left) and clean beauty tools and accessories with each other. Second Love swaps open on November 11, 2026.

How do I join?

Join SwapMyBeauty free, then tap Reserve my spot (on the club page, in Discover or in your profile) and accept the club rules. You keep your seat by listing 1 sealed product within 7 days. Seats go in order; when all 50 are taken there's a waitlist.

Can I swap my opened lipstick, mascara or skincare?

No. For hygiene, opened makeup, skincare, haircare and bath & body can't be swapped, not even in the club. You can swap them sealed, with everyone.

Which perfumes can I swap opened?

Perfume in its original clear bottle with at least 70% left, up to 250 ml (8.4 fl oz), not refilled or decanted, with a working sprayer and no leaks. You declare how much is left and the month you opened it, and add a photo of the level. Our AI and our team check every listing and may ask for more photos or reject it.

How do I list a Tried Once item?

Club members with a seat tap Add a product and choose "Tried Once item". Take 2 photos (the front, then the level or the condition), say how much is left and the month you opened it, and confirm the club promises. Our team checks every Tried Once listing. You can list now; Second Love swaps open on November 11, 2026. A Tried Once listing doesn't keep your seat: that needs 1 sealed product.

Who sees Tried Once listings?

All members see them, with a TRIED ONCE badge. Only club members can like and swap them.

Is there a fee?

During the pilot there's no SwapMyBeauty service fee on Second Love swaps between club members. Shipping works as for every swap.

How is perfume shipped?

By ground only, one fragrance per parcel, with the Limited Quantity marking and the label we issue, following the carrier's rules for perfume and our packing instructions: cap secured, bottle sealed in a bag, padding. Labels are released when both members accept the swap.

What if a product isn't as described?

Report it from the swap page within the time shown in the app. If we agree, we refund what you paid to SwapMyBeauty for that swap (fees and shipping). We don't pay for the value of the products themselves.

Is a barely-used perfume safe to use?

Tried Once products are used and we can't check how they were stored. Check the ingredients, do a patch test, and stop using it if you have a reaction. For health questions, ask a doctor or pharmacist.

Second Love Club rules

Pilot program · last updated October 31, 2026

1. Who runs the club

The Second Love Club (called the “Pre-owned Club” until October 31, 2026) is a pilot program of SwapMyBeauty, operated by TalentyGo LLC. “Tried Once” is the name we give to the lightly used items listed in the club: they have been opened and used, so they are not new. The SwapMyBeauty Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to the club too; these rules add to them. Joining the club is free and no purchase is needed.

2. Who can join

Members of SwapMyBeauty who are 18 or older and whose profile ZIP code is in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. One seat per person.

3. 50 founding seats

Seats are given in the order members reserve them, and each seat has a number. To keep your seat, list at least 1 sealed product in your Swap Closet within 7 days of reserving it. If you don’t, the seat is released and offered to the next person. When all seats are taken, you can join the waitlist; we’ll email you when a seat opens.

4. What can be swapped as Tried Once

Accepted, only after our checks approve the listing:

  • Perfume (eau de parfum, eau de toilette, cologne, body or hair mist) in its original CLEAR glass bottle, so the level can be seen, with at least 70% left, up to 250 ml (8.4 fl oz) per bottle, never refilled or decanted, with the original sprayer or cap working and no leaks.
  • Makeup brushes, cleaned before shipping and in good condition (no shedding, no broken handles).
  • Non-electric beauty tools that don't touch the eyes or break the skin, cleaned: hair brushes and combs, mirrors, hair clips, claw clips, scrunchies and headbands.
  • Bags, makeup cases, organizers and storage items, clean and in good condition.

Not accepted as Tried Once (sealed versions can still be swapped with everyone, except prohibited items):

  • Opened makeup of any kind (lipstick, gloss, mascara, eyeliner, foundation, concealer, powder, palettes, blush).
  • Opened skincare, haircare, bath & body, sunscreen, deodorant, nail polish or nail products.
  • Perfume in opaque or colored bottles where the level can't be seen, with less than 70% left, decants, refills, samples split from a bigger bottle, leaking bottles, or bottles over 250 ml (8.4 fl oz).
  • Sponges, puffs, applicators, eyelash curlers, false lashes, tweezers, razors, nail tools, and anything that touched the eyes or mucous membranes or can break the skin (derma rollers, extractors, needles).
  • Beauty devices and anything with a battery or plug (hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons, cleansing devices, LED tools): not accepted on SwapMyBeauty, not even sealed.
  • Testers and items marked not for sale, anything on the prohibited items list, expired, damaged, recalled or counterfeit products, and anything the member isn't sure about.

If a product isn’t clearly on the accepted list, it can’t be swapped as Tried Once.

5. Honest listings

For each Tried Once product you declare how much is left and the month you opened it, and you add clear photos, including one that shows the level in the bottle. Our AI and our team check listings and may ask for more photos or reject them. Listing something you know is not as described breaks these rules and the Terms of Service.

6. Who sees Tried Once listings

Tried Once listings are visible to all members of SwapMyBeauty, marked with a TRIED ONCE badge and the declared level and opening month. Only club members can like, save or swap them. Your sealed products stay visible to everyone.

7. Fees and shipping

During the pilot, SwapMyBeauty charges no service fee on Second Love swaps between club members. Shipping works as for every swap (see Shipping & fees). Perfume ships by ground only, following the carrier’s rules for perfume: you’ll get packing instructions (sealed bag, padding, cap secured). Shipping labels are released when both members have accepted the swap.

8. If something goes wrong

If a product arrives clearly not as described, report it through the swap within the time shown in the app. If we agree, we refund what you paid to SwapMyBeauty for that swap (fees and shipping). We don’t pay for the value of the products themselves. Tried Once products are used: check ingredients and do a patch test before using a perfume, and stop if you have a reaction.

9. Changes to the pilot

This is a pilot. Second Love swaps open on November 11, 2026. We may change these rules, pause or end the pilot, or remove a seat from a member who breaks these rules or the Terms of Service. We’ll tell club members by email before important changes. Questions: support@swapmybeauty.com.
