No. SwapMyBeauty only arranges exchanges between members. There are no product prices, no carts and no credits. You pay your shipping share and a service fee per completed swap.

New, unused, authentic makeup, skincare, gift sets and selected fragrances that are factory-sealed and in date. Every listing is reviewed before it can be matched.

When you add a product, take a photo of the front of the box. Our AI reads what's printed on the packaging and fills in the brand, product name, category, size and shade for you. You check and correct every detail before you continue, and nothing is listed until our team's review approves it. It only reads the label: it can't tell whether a product is authentic, unopened or in date, so your declarations still count. Photos are used only for your listing, and we remove location and camera data from every photo.

A swap between three members arranged in a loop, so everyone receives something they asked for even when no two of them want each other's products directly.

The estimated value of the products currently available in your Closet. It helps you see which products might be in range. It is not a balance, a credit or money we owe you.

No, but they need to be close: nobody should give much more than they get. If your product is worth less than the one you want, add another product from your Closet and we can offer a bundle (up to 3 products from you). If you're happy to give more, you can also choose "Swap anyway" when we offer it.

Free swaps have no service fee (postage still applies). You earn 1 for every 2 friends who join with your code and complete their first swap, and 2 more when you complete 3 swaps within six months (January–June or July–December).

48 hours. During that window the products in the proposal are held for it. If anyone declines or the time runs out, everything is released.

Yes, until the carrier scans the first parcel. Before every member has accepted, you can simply decline. After that, use “Cancel this swap” on the swap page: it cancels the swap for every member, nothing ships, nobody pays the SwapMyBeauty fee and the other members get back any postage they paid. Your own postage comes back once the carrier refunds the unused labels. Once a parcel is scanned, use “Report a problem” instead. Full details are in the Terms, under “Cancellations and refunds.”

Only the carrier label for a swap you accepted. Other members see your first name, SwapScore and number of completed swaps.

A simple reliability indicator based on completed swaps and on-time hand-offs to the carrier. New members start without a score. Carrier delays and open disputes don't lower it.

Fragrances are regulated for transport. They ship only through approved ground services; until one is available for your swap it waits for a shipping review, and nobody is charged.

Fill in the short form on the Join page. We're open in the New York Tri-State area first (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut): there, most applications are approved in a few seconds and you can create your account right away. Elsewhere in the US you join the waitlist and we'll email you when we open in your area. We welcome new members in small groups so every Closet has products to swap. A friend's personal code lets you skip the wait.

Yes. Use “Continue with Google” on the sign-in page. If you're new, “Join with Google” asks only your ZIP code: in our launch area most applications are approved in seconds. Apple sign-in isn't available yet.

Use the heart. In Discover, swipe left and right to browse, then tap ♥ on the products you love (they go to your Wishlist) and ✕ on the ones that aren't for you. Every choice teaches SwapMyBeauty your taste, so the products and swap matches we suggest get better over time. In Profile, choose your favorite categories under “Interests” and answer the three quick questions in “Your taste” (skin type, hair type, favorite scents) to sharpen it further.

Mia is SwapMyBeauty's AI assistant, in the member area. She answers questions about swaps, listings and shipping, can look up your own swaps and parcels, and passes your request to a person on our team whenever you ask. She is an AI and can make mistakes; she only sees your own account.
