Shipping and fees

The service fee is 5% of the estimated value of the products you receive, plus $0.70, and never more than $7.99 per swap. Each member pays the fee on what they receive, so small swaps cost little. It’s never part of a carrier charge.

The fee is authorized when you pay for shipping and charged only when the swap completes. If a swap is cancelled before completion, the fee is released. A referral reward waives it on one swap.

Values in a swap need to be close, not identical. If your product is worth less than the one you want, add another product from your Closet: we can offer a bundle with up to 3 of your products. If you’re happy to give more than you get, choose “Swap anyway” when we offer it: your fee is on what you receive, so it’s lower.

You never pay money for a product or for a difference in value.

Free swaps have no service fee; postage still applies. You earn 1 free swap for every 2 friends who join with your code and complete their first swap, and 2 free swaps when you complete 3 swaps within six months (January–June or July–December). Rules

After your third completed swap you can join the Swap Club for $24 a year: no service fee on any of your swaps while you’re a member. Shipping is still shared as usual.

The membership renews automatically every year until you cancel. We email you before each renewal, and you can cancel online from your profile at any time; you keep the benefits until the end of the year you paid for.

Once every member accepts a swap, SwapMyBeauty gets real rates from the carrier for each parcel. The total is split equally between the members, and you see your exact share before you pay.

Costs follow parcels, not people or products: two products going to the same member travel together when they fit. The engine prefers swaps where each member sends a single parcel.

Labels are bought only after every member has paid, and you get yours only once every label in the swap exists. Ship within the deadline shown on your swap; we send reminders before it.

Example: three parcels cost $24.00 in total, so each of three members pays $8.00 for shipping. If you receive a $50 product, your fee is $3.20 ($2.50 + $0.70): $11.20 in all.

Perfumes and other alcohol-based fragrances are regulated for transport. They can be matched, but they ship only alone in their parcel, by ground, inside the contiguous US, through a carrier account approved for limited-quantity shipments.

Until an approved service is available for a swap, it waits in a shipping review before any payment or label. Partially used fragrance is not supported.

Within the contiguous United States. Some military and territory ZIP codes aren’t supported yet, and PO boxes can receive parcels through USPS only.
